Milk Monster

Make a funny milky-monster robot!

Duration

3 Activities, approx 30-45 min each based on familiarity with the coding concepts

Materials

Recycled

  • 1 Milk Carton (with a screwable top cap)
  • 1 Small cord - recycle string from a used tea bag
  • 1 Paper clip

Electronics

  • 1 micro:bit, battery holder and 2 AAA batteries
  • 3 Crocodile clips
  • 1 micro servo 9g SG90
  • 1 servo clip designed for Milky Monster, download at thingiverse (optional). Teachers may prefer to download the classroom pack (16 servo clips).

Tools

  • Small knife and scissors that can cut cardboard
  • Tape (masking, duct tape, and/or packing tape)
  • Glue gun

Materials

Preparation

  • Equip the micro servo with crocodile clips
  • Get the cutout template
  • Download and 3D-print the servo clip designed for Milky Monster from thingiverse (this is optional). Teachers may prefer to download the classroom pack (16 servo clips).
